We aim to offer something different!
As a practising paramedic Mercede has a clear idea of what she would like to see the public doing before she arrives at a call out.
Particular areas she is keen to raise awareness of are:
- conditions which are often not recognised quickly
- conditions which look serious but are not
- conditions which don't look serious but in fact need urgent attention
This is all covered on every course helping you to be a practical first aider.
On some occasions first aiders are trained by their employers but are hesitant about using the skills they have learnt when an emergency occurs. To overcome this Mercede will help you to be confident about the role you can play prior to someone like her arriving to take over. She talks informally about the links between her role as a paramedic and the role you can play with first aid training. Simple skills really can save a life.
The courses at Tailormade First Aid cover all the recognised essential skills you need and which you'll get on any first aid course but in addition, you tell us what you are concerned about and this will be added to the course information.
Course members often have a specific area which concerns them. They may have a baby about to wean and are concerned about allergic reactions, an elderly relative who is prone to dizzy spells or a family member who plays sport and has come home with a sprained ankle.
Mercede is happy to give advice as to the best course of action for any home or workplace emergency.
Courses are arranged to suit the participants, dates and times are flexible and can be arranged at short notice. There is no minimum number on a course and once you have your date arranged Mercede will publicise the date to see if any other people are interested in joining you.
If this sounds like the kind of first aid training you'd like to take part in then get in touch.
